Edo Kiriko “Kingyo” (Goldfish)

Sale price$250.00

The Edo Kiriko “Kingyo” glass captures the essence of traditional Japanese craftsmanship through an enchanting illusion.
When filled with your favorite drink, the engraved goldfish design appears to float gracefully within the glass, as if viewed from above a pond.

Created by GLASS-LAB, a Tokyo-based workshop inheriting the legacy of Shiina Glass Studio (est. 1950), each piece combines two expert techniques—Hira-kiriko (flat cutting) and sandblasting—to achieve precision down to 0.09mm.
Crafted from rare “Kin-aka” double-layered glass—light blue overlaid with soft pink—it expresses the shimmering world beneath the water’s surface.

Every glass is individually handcrafted and presented in a Paulownia wood box, wrapped in GLASS-LAB’s original paper, making it a thoughtful gift for special occasions.

A moment where light meets water.

When sake or water is poured, the engraved goldfish at the bottom shimmers to life—
a delicate illusion that captures the beauty of light dancing across still water.
Each glass invites you to pause and admire the quiet poetry hidden within craftsmanship.

Handcrafted brilliance in every cut.

Created by the artisans of GLASS-LAB in Tokyo, this Edo Kiriko piece combines
two traditional techniques—Hira-kiriko (flat cutting) and fine sandblasting—
executed with precision up to 0.09mm.
Only a handful of craftsmen in Japan possess the skill to achieve this clarity and depth.

A serene palette of blue and pink.

Made from rare “Kin-aka” overlay glass, a light blue base wrapped in a soft pink hue,
the color composition evokes a tranquil pond bathed in morning light.
Each pour reveals a new expression—subtle, elegant, and deeply personal.

Tokyo craftsmanship, born from tradition.
